Abstract: ISO/IEC TR 24748-3:2011 is adopted by this standard. ISO/IEC TR 24748-3:2011 is a guide for the application of ISO/IEC 12207:2008. It addresses system, life cycle, process, organizational, project, and adaptation concepts, principally through reference to ISO/IEC TR 24748-1 and ISO/IEC 12207:2008. It gives guidance on applying ISO/IEC 12207:2008 from the aspects of strategy, planning, application in organizations, and application on projects. ISO/IEC TR 24748-3:2011 is intentionally aligned with both ISO/IEC TR 24748-1 and ISO/IEC TR 24748-2 (Guide to the application of ISO/IEC 15288) in its terminology, structure and content. Keywords: IEEE 24748-3, life cycle, process, systems engineering.

SUMMARY: A process for the management of risk in the life cycle of software is defined. It can be added to the existing set of software life cycle processes defined by the IEEE/EIA 12207 series of standards, or it can be used independently. KEYWORDS: bedside, Infrared Data Association, IrDA, legacy device, medical device, medical device communications, MIB, patient, SNTP.

The purpose of this part of ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119 is to provide an International Standard that defines software test design techniques (also known as test case design techniques or test methods) that can be used within the test design and implementation process that is defined in ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119-2. This part of ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119 does not describe a process for test design and implementation; instead, it describes a set of techniques that can be used within the test design and implementation process defined in ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119-2. The intent is to describe a series of techniques that have wide acceptance in the software testing industry. The test design techniques presented in this part of ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119 can be used to derive test cases that, when executed, generate evidence that test item requirements have been met or that defects are present in a test item (i.e. that requirements have not been met). Risk-based testing could be used to determine the set of techniques that are applicable in specific (risk-based testing is covered in ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119-1 and ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119-2).

The 1st European Workshop on Software Architecture (EWSA2004) was held in St Andrews, Scotland on 21–22 May 2004. The workshop provided an international forum for researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to discuss a wide range of topics in the area of software architecture and to jointly formulate an agenda for future research. We were pleased to continue this forum in EWSA 2005. The importance of software architecture as a fundamental area of software engineering continues to grow. In addition to describing the underlying structure of software systems, architectures are now being used to model and understand dynamic behavior. New areas of study, which have their roots in control systems, are beginning to emerge. The field of autonomics requires an underlying software architecture to describe the executing computation as does any control system that involves system evolution. The range of papers in EWSA 2005 reflected both the traditional and new applications of software architecture techniques. EWSA 2005 distinguished between three types of papers: research papers (which describe authors’ novel research work), a case study (which describes experiences related to software architectures)and position papers (which present concise arguments about a topic of software architecture research or practice). The Programme Committee selected 18 papers (12 research papers, 4 position papers, 1 case study, and 1 unrefereed invited paper) out of 41 submissions from 20 countries (Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, China, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, India, Italy, Ireland, Korea, Netherlands, Pakistan, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, UK, USA). All submissions were reviewed by at least three members of the Programme Committee. Papers were selected based on originality, quality, soundness and relevance to the workshop. Credit for the quality of the proceedings goes to all authors of papers.

This volume LNCS 14300 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 18th International Conference, IFM 2023, in November 2023, held in Leiden, The Netherlands. The 16 full papers presented together with 2 short papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 51 submissions. The conference focuses on all aspects of the design of integrated techniques, including language design, verification and validation, automated tool support, and the use of such techniques in software engineering practice.

EUROMICRO-SEAA brings together people from business, industry, research, and academia who are working in software engineering and information technology with its various aspects. Over the years, these conferences have reflected and represented the continuous changes in technology and application areas. The aim of EUROMICRO SEAA 2005 is to continue its focus on software engineering and new, innovative and advanced software applications.
